OpenAI Confirms the Development of GPT-5

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has confirmed that the company is actively working on GPT-5, the next iteration of the popular GPT-4 model. Altman mentioned that GPT-5 will require new data from both public and proprietary sources, and additional funding from Microsoft, its main partner, to develop "superintelligence."

Also, the company pauses signups due to high demand.

Hollywood Actors' Strike Resolves with Agreement on AI Rights

The Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists has ended its 118-day strike after reaching an agreement with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers.

The strike, the longest in Hollywood's history, involved disputes over AI rights and residual payments for streaming content. The terms of the agreement have not been disclosed but are expected to address AI protections for actors.

YouTube to Mandate AI-Generated Content Disclosure by Creators

YouTube will require users to add disclaimers when posting AI-generated or manipulated videos, especially for sensitive content like elections and public health crises.

The company will display prominent disclaimers for such content and may remove or suspend accounts that repeatedly refuse to comply. YouTube will also allow musical artists to request the takedown of AI-generated music mimicking their unique voices. DeepMind has unveiled GraphCast, a highly accurate AI-based weather prediction model that can forecast up to 10 days in advance.
